The free art museum located in Washington, D.C.'s National Mall has the only Leonardo da Vinci painting in North and South America. National Gallery of Art originated in 1937 with a donation of the large art collection of banker Andrew Mellon and today has more than 130,000 paintings, photographs, drawings, sculptures and furniture. Its campus has an amazing 6.1-acre Sculpture Garden among its Neo-classical style West Building and Modern style East Building. The Sculpture Garden has a pool and fountain during the summer and an ice skating rink during the winter.
