National Archives Building

This Washington, D.C. Neo-classical building completed in 1935 protects and displays the United States' most important documents including the Bill of Rights, Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Louisiana Purchase Treaty and the Emancipation Proclamation. The National Archives Building contains 10 billion paper records, 25 million still photographs and graphics, 300,000 film reels, 400,000 audio and video recordings, 12 million charts and drawings, and 24 million aerial photographs. It is on the U.S. Register of Historic Places.
