Feather River Fish Hatchery

This Oroville hatchery yields 10 million young salmon to stock the Feather River each year and the city actually has an Oroville Salmon Festival every September. Feather River Fish Hatchery was created in 1962 when a dam was built by the California Department of Fish and Game to direct fish to a ladder and then to the hatchery before they reach the impassable Oroville Dam.
