Audubon Zoo

Located on more than 50 acres in Uptown New Orleans, this popular zoo houses approximately 1,500 animals made up of 360 species including two white alligators and a Komodo dragon. Audubon Zoo opened in 1914 and was named after New Orleans naturalist John James Audubon. Exhibits include the Louisiana Swamp, Jaguar Jungle, Reptile Encounter, World of Primates, Asian Domain and Embraceable Zoo. It also has a Swamp Train to take visitors to the main exhibits. The zoo is visited by more than 750,00 people per year.
