Q: Hi! I'm not sure which tour to book, the West Rim or South? What's the difference? (apart from the skywalk which I'm not interested in). How long do we actually stay at the Grand Canyon? 2009-08-05 11:24:53 Hi Claire: The tour allows for a visit to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon a little more than an hour. You will have your own time in the Grand Canyon for sightseeing and picture taking. The main difference between the West and South rims of the Grand Canyon is the South rim is the deeper and wider part of the Canyon and is more commercialized than the West Rim. The West Rim is the more natural or undeveloped part of the Grand Canyon and is where the Skywalk is located. Thank you for your inquiry. Q: On your optional tours, how do I pay for it. Do you take cash, can I write a check, or charge it to a credit card. I do not want to carry too much cash since it will be a party of four. Also, do we stop for breakfast before we start the daily tour. I see that optional tour prices are for adults, are their discounts for seniors. I am planning to take my parents who are over 65. 2009-08-04 11:33:00 Hi John: The optional tours are to be paid in cash directly to the tour guide. Unfortunately the tour guide will not be able to accept any other form of payment for the optional tours. While the customers are joining the optional tours, the tour guide will pay for the guests directly to the designated parties, in order to avoid having guests wait in lines. Breakfast can be taken in the morning at hotels before tours depart, but tour guides will also make rest stops in the morning at local fast food locations to purchase breakfast. Currently the optional tours provided on tour do not offer senior citizen rates at this time. Thank you for your inquiry. I still have some other questions: - Is the optional in-depth sightseeing tour on Day 2 in the afternoon or around the evening? - How long does it last? - If we don't want to take this optional tour, would we have some free time instead? - Do I have to decide and pay for this optional tour on the first day when boarding? - Does the tour USLA2-110 have the same optional sightseeing tour? - And is it correct that the tour USLA2-110 won't go to Chinatown? If you wish to have free time, we recommend that take time during the San Francisco In-Depth Sightseeing tour. This tour is conducted normally after the Fisherman's Wharf from noon to mid-afternoon. We recommend that you speak with the tour guide regarding the exact time, as the tour guide's have the flexibility in amending tour schedule should it be required. The tour guide will notify all the guests of the optional tours shortly before the time in order to allow guests to decide and pay for the tour or not. Yes, both tours have the same optional tours. The hotels differ on the tours and certain sights visited. USLA2-110 will also visit Chinatown as this is one the many historic sights that made San Francisco what it is today. Q: Can you get picked up at the Marriott's Canyon Villas at Desert Ridge? If not the closest place you could get picked up? Would a women who is 89 years old with a walker be a big problem for getting in the van/bus to handle this trip? She is in fairly good physical condition. What time at night would you get back?
