Valley of the Ten Peaks

Crowned by the ten peaks that give it its name, this sprawling and gorgeous valley in Banff National Park is part of the original homeland of the Nakoda First Nation tribe. Inescapable on a trip to the Canadian Rockies, the valley is home to the famous Moraine Lake, one of Alberta's most famous lakes and attractions. The valley is accessible on the Moraine Lake Road out of Banff and a park pass to the greater Banff National Park allows access to this area. The best time to visit is in early fall, before the temperate drops but after the large tourist crowds have dwindled away.
