University of Havana
Founded in 1728, the University of Havana is the oldest university in Cuba and one of the oldest in the Americas. Located in the Vedado district of Havana, the University manages 16 faculties, featuring departments in the natural sciences, social sciences, and economic sciences as well as distance education. During the revolution the University became a central point for student protests against the government.
