Built in 1930, the Hotel Nacional is the most popular hotel in Havana and has housed many historical figures from Winston Churchill to Frank Sinatra. Standing on a hill at the end of the Vedado district, the hotel offers a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. Steeped in history, it was utilized by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara as a government headquarters during the Cuban missile crisis, and today houses a museum dedicated to the event.
