Star Island
This private man-made island in Miami Beach's South Beach neighborhood is located in Biscayne Bay and has a guard stationed at its entrance. Star Island was created in 1922 by the Army Corps of Engineers. Celebrities who own property or used to reside on the island include basketball star Shaquille O'Neil, singer Gloria Estefan, actor Don Johnson, comedian Rosie O'Donnell and musician Sean Combs.
