Renaissance Center

Also called GM Renaissance Center, the cluster of seven attached skyscrapers owned by General Motors consumes Downtown Detroit's skyline. The 5.5-million-square-foot property is the General Motors global headquarters and has a 1,300-room Marriot Hotel, four-screen movie theater, financial center, fitness center, food court, two foreign consulates, four restaurants and numerous merchants. The structure along the Detroit River that reaches 74 stories was built in 1977 and purchased by General Motors in 1996.
