Old Town Pasadena

Also referred to as Old Pasadena and Old Town, this historic gem is located within the California city of Pasadena - famous for its annual Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl. Old Town Pasadena dates back to the 1870s and the name Pasadena - meaning "Crown of the Valley" in the Chippewa Indian language - was picked so the new community could establish a post office in 1875. The commercial area is a mix of restaurants, sidewalk cafes, bars, stores, hotels and entertainment venues - many located in charming buildings from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Old Town Pasadena is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
