Museum of Flying, Santa Monica

The Museum of Flying, located in Santa Monica, is a non-profit air and space museum founded in 1974. The museum was originally named the Douglas Museum and Library, after founder Donald Douglas, Jr., before it was renamed the Museum of Flying in 1989. The museum focuses on the history of aviation in Southern California and has an exhibit that takes up nearly 22,000 square feet. The museum features nearly two dozen aircrafts, some dating back to the beginning of flight, and includes a replica Wright Flyer and a Fedex Boeing 727.
