Little Tokyo

The historic district in Downtown Los Angeles has the largest concentration of Japanese Americans in North America and features many Japanese cultural institutions, stores and restaurants. Japanese immigrants began migrating to Little Tokyo, which is one of three Japantowns in the United States, in the 1880s. Points of interest are The Japanese American Cultural & Community Center, Japanese American National Museum, Little Tokyo Watchtower, James Irvine Historic Garden and the Go for Broke Monument. Little Tokyo is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
