Among the approximately 5,000 people who call the Old Granary Burial Ground their final resting place are several persons of note from the American Revolution - Paul Revere and three signers of the Declaration of Independence - as well as the five victims of the Boston Massacre and the judge who presided over the Salem witch trials. Despite the decidedly morbid atmosphere, the cemetery is still alive with the pivotal events culminating in the birth of our nation. The Old Granary Burial Ground is also one of the official sites on the Freedom Trail.
