Founded in 1983 as the Miami Youth Museum, this cultural organization has grown throughout the years to now have a 56,500-square-foot center on Watson Island with 10 educational classrooms, 14 galleries and a 200-seat auditorium. Miami Children's Museum's structure was built by Arquitectonica International Inc. to symbolize earth, water, wind and fire. It offers a large variety of bilingual exhibits and programs for children about community, arts, culture and communications.
