New Orleans' most popular street seems to have a party every night as it runs 13 blocks in the city's historic French Quarter. Bourbon Street was designed with other New Orleans streets in 1721 when the city was under French rule and engineer Adrien de Pauger named it after France's ruling family - House of Bourbon. Today, the thoroughfare has a wide variety of businesses including bars, fine dining restaurants, strip clubs, souvenir shops, candy stores and Jazz clubs. You'll most definitely hear Jazz music, smell Cajun cooking and observe amazing European style architecture.
