"What an amazing experience to book this one day San Francisco tour with Tours4Fun. On the day of the tour I was not sure what kind of bus to look for so I called Tours4Fun and one of Tours4Fun Customer Service Rep answered and was VERY hel..pful and informed me exactly what to look for. The driver was on time at the hotel I was staying at and took us to the pier right where we needed to take our cruise. The cruise covered the most beautiful sights like the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island and we also got to see some dolphins. All sights covered by the cruise were very informative and explained the history for each sight. After the cruise, we were left back at the pier where we would need to catch the bus to take the city tour. Our tour guide was very helpful and gave us just enough time to explore each stop and have photo opportunities. This was my first time visiting San Francisco and we had the most memorable time in San Francisco all thanks to Tours4Fun. You bet I will be booking again with Tours4Fun :)"Read full review
"The greatest attraction of the cruise is the Golden Gate Bridge. The boat took us right beneath the bridge, and it was a magnificent sight! We had seen the bridge from a vantage point during our city tour, but our view was blocked by trees.. or buildings most of the time. And of course, fog! Fortunately, this time the weather had cleared up, and we had the sun. The red color of the bridge gave it a Martian robotic look. The boat kept floating on the waves underneath the bridge for about 5 minutes before turning around. We got a lot of interesting facts about the bridge in the meantime, from the commentary. On our way back from the bridge, we were joined by a huge flock of seagulls, who were matching their flights with the boat's speed. They were the star of the show then, and everyone got their cameras out to get a good close-up shot of a flying seagull. During the return trip, we had a good view of the hilly Marin County on the other side of the bridge, as well as of Angel Island, where immigrants on the Western shore of the United States were quarantined before they were allowed in. According to the commentary, Angel Island is also known as the Ellis Island of the West, since it served the same purpose as the latter island which is located near New York Harbor. The boat took a different route now, and went very close to Alcatraz. We could clearly see the buildings on the island, and we passed by their dock. The Rock certainly casts an eerie profile on the ocean. Famous inmates and escape attempts were recalled in the audio commentary, and we got to know that the waters of the Bay are freezing even during Summer, and every attempt to cross it from Alcatraz had failed, except probably the one by Frank Morris, depicted in the film ""'Escape from Alcatraz'. "It was excellent and tour guide was knowledgable and informative. He knew when we wanted to take a picture and tried to accommedate us when he could. The trip was very, very enjoyable and comfortable."
"Just a wonderful tour, especially the quality of the bus driver; He went out of his way to explain and point out things of interest, even the great restaurant in Monterey;"
The tour itself was terrific. Great tour guides, great route, great experience. I didn't give five starts for two reasons: 1. We toured with a five year old and were told we needed to bring a car seat, but both buses we were on lacked the ..proper hooks/latches to attach the car seat to the bus seat. I'm guessing this is a state law, but still it was frustrating to drag a car seat (I wouldn't have if I hadn't been told to) and not be able to use it properly. 2. We booked a Sausalito tour and a day in the bay tour. From the website I did not realize they were not one continuous tour. This caused a logistical issue when the first bus driver assured us we could be dropped off at the Hilton where we were picked up for the Sausalito tour and the second bus driver indicated we could be dropped off in China town as another guest was being let off there or at the hotel Zephyr, but not at the Hilton because holiday traffic was too busy to go near union square. Walking/Ubering a half mile from China town to the Hilton with the aforementioned car seat (those things are bulky!) and a senior citizen that walks with a cane was not fun. The other frustrating part is we weren't staying at either hotel. I live in the east bay and took the tour with visiting family so we could have easily parked at any hotel. Your company told me which hotel to meet at. It would have been REALLY nice if the full day's logistics had been taken into consideration and we were able to be dropped off where we were picked up or told to meet at the Zephyr instead of the Hilton. So the tour was terrific, but we were all grumpy by the time we got home due to the logistical issues. :/Read full review
Tour was great! They showed up on time, gave great commentary and adjusted the times between Muir Woods and Sausilito to accommodate the fact it was Christmas and not much was going to be open in Sausilito. Would definitely recommend and ..do another tour with them next time I am in the SF area.Read full review
Our tour was awesome! We researched a lot of companies and tours before choosing, and it paid off. We chose this one since we got more time in Muir Woods. Our tour guide was awesome! Kimberly did a great job. She was polite, safe, and knew ..a lot about the places we were visiting. She kept everyone on time. We got even more time in Muir Woods than advertised. She gave great advice on where to eat in Sausalito. We would use Extranomical again!Read full review
