I definitely recommend this lodge as it was one of the best experiences we had! We spent only one night at Itamandi but it was more than worth travelling from Quito because of one night (even the journey is a great experience and scenery..). On the next day we paid for an additional programme (jungle hike) and lunch to spend more time at Itamandi. You can reach Itamandi only by a canoe which takes you away deeper into the forest, unlike other lodges in proximity which are located by the main road. We stayed in the room with a river view, absolutely amazing!!! The hotel is ecologically-built and has a great architecture. The stay reminds you of how important it is to preserve nature and that there are people in the world who really protect their Mother Earth. Our guide, Franklin, was extremely friendly, smiley, and informative. It was one of the strongest life experiences to hike through the jungle, hear about how the local communities use various plants to survive in the nature, experience a healing ritual, see poisonous spiders etc... We did not manage to see the parrots as it started raining a lot but we did not mind it at all, it does not really matter what you get to see as long as you are in this place. Also we already saw more than enough animals at the Galapagos a week before. The pool is lovely and the food is incredible, we did not expect to receive such a superb treatment in a jungle! There is of course no wifi but you cannot expect to have internet in a jungle, electricity is already a luxury from my point of view. Read full review
We stayed at Itamandi Lodge in May - it was an excellent time. The lodge is really comfortable and the staff there is professional and welcoming and very helpful. The rooms were lovely; the food was very high standard and plenty of it. We w..ere lucky to be in a small group of 5 (3 of us and another couple) and our guide, Yaku, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The treks were excellent and his information and local knowledge was really great, also his English was really good too. I would totally recommend staying here. Read full review
This Lodge caters for perfect food (I am vegetarian and they catered truly great food), quiet and relaxed tranquility after sometimes intensive walks. For the excursions they have perfect guides available. Lodge can only be reached by boat ..which makes it all even more fun. No WiFi, of course, this is in the middle of nature. Read full review
