Your Spring Travel Guide
Mexico
1. Mexico
In Baja California of Mexico, one can truly enjoy the serenity of the tourist off-season, and one can easily find towns with virtually no tourists. The real treat of Baja California is the Bay whale-watching! At the beginning of every year grey whales travel south from Alaska to the Ojo de Liebre Lagoon near Guerrero Negro to mate and raise their newborn calves. This spectacular event has been documented for decades with over 2,000 whales migrating to this lagoon annually! Because of the rising whale watching industry in the area, these whales are in no way shy of humans, and the mothers even push the calves up to boats to encourage newborns to make friends with us small humans. The season runs from February to March, with whales migrating back to Alaska in April, so get to Mexico fast!

2. Holland
If Butchart Gardens aren't enough spring splendor for you, then you might want to hop over to Holland to see fields up fields of brightly colored tulips burst open. Every park, garden, and windowsill in Amsterdam will surely be covered in this gorgeous little flowers, but the real experience comes from a trip to Keukenhof, also known as the Gardens of Europe. Here you can meander through the creative and fantastic display – such as a small garden shaped into Van Goth's face! From March 24 – May 16 the garden will be open to the public, giving you plenty of time to explore this lovely country from a lovely hotel in Amsterdam. And don't miss you chance to explore Dutch culture with a half-day trip to Delft, Hague, and the miniature city of Maturodam.

Florida
3. Florida
Granted, Florida is gorgeous year-round, but in this case we would highly recommend Orlando. The center of all things Disney in Florida makes Orlando a huge tourist destination. Not to mention Universal Studios and the general splendor that is Florida weather and beaches. Disneyworld and Epcot report some of their lowest numbers during the early spring season, making it an ideal destination for anyone who needs that theme park fun without the lines. Be sure to visit Miami and the Everglades while you are in Florida, as they are also experiencing the low tourist season but still maintaining that sunny weather.
