This heritage open-air museum in Zaanse Schans features a wide variety of items relating to the Zaans area of the Netherlands. Zaans Museum opened in 1994 and expanded in 2009 to include the Verkade Pavilion. Visitors can see housing, traditional dress, furniture, utensils, equipment and paintings. The pavilion offers history and information on the Verkade company's production of sweets such as chocolate, cake and cookies.
