Vilna Shul

Using the slogan "A Place for Everyone to Connect with Jewish Culture," the Boston synagogue and cultural center is located in the city's Beacon Hill neighborhood. Vilna Shul was designed by architect Max Kalman and built for Jewish immigrants from Vilna, Lithuania in 1919. When the synagogue deteriorated around 1985, the Boston Center for Jewish Culture began a campaign to restore the building as a museum to provide historical exhibits on Vilna Shul and Jewish immigrants in Boston.
