The United States Army research institution is located on a 56-acre campus in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and is part of the United States Army War College. The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center opened in 1999 and contains the Army Heritage Museum, U.S. Army Military History Institute, Digital Archives Division, the Historical Services Division and the Research and Education Services. Its motto is "Telling the Army Story, One Soldier at a Time." The center's exhibits include the Army Heritage Trail, Soldier Experience Story and Civil War Imagery.
