Cemetery Ridge

The 40-foot near two-mile long ridge was an important location during the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. Cemetery Ridge gave the Union Army an unparalleled defense location to fight off two days of numerous attacks from the Confederate Army. A stone wall on the north side of the ridge is sometimes called "The High Water Mark of the Confederacy" or "The Angle."
