The Breakers

This Vanderbilt mansion designed by Richard Morris Hunt and built between 1893-1895 is a U.S. National Historic Landmark. The Renaissance-style palace has 70 rooms and was constructed based upon the 16th century palazzos in the Italian cities of Genoa and Turin. This architectural gem overlooking the Atlantic Ocean is the most visited tourist site in Rhode Island bringing 300,000 people per year.
