This intriguing underground cave in Howes Cave, New York, was discovered in 1928 after grazing cows fell through an 85-foot hole in the ground. Secret Caverns was started by civil engineer Roger Mallery and boasts an amazing 100-foot waterfall among its many stalactites and stalagmites. The tourist attraction is advertised on dozens of quirky roadside signs in upstate New York. Secret Caverns allows guests to take photos of and touch the rock formations. More artifacts are on display at Secret Caverns Lodge.
