Niagara Escarpment

This lengthy and steep cliff begins in New York state and runs nearly 1,000 miles through Ontario, Canada as well as the U.S. states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois forming an arc. Niagara Escarpment is the most famous of the bed rock escarpments in the Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada and one of its cliffs is where the Niagara River rushes over the Niagara Falls. The area contains a variety of wildlife diversity within its many forests, waterfalls, rivers, trails, wetlands, cliffs, rolling hills and rock formations. Niagara Escarpment is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization World Biosphere Reserve and several of its regions contain great grape growing climate for wine production.
