The 120,000-square-foot Downtown Ft. Lauderdale science center contains many exhibits, learning labs, an open-air atrium and a 300-seat IMAX Theater. Museum of Discovery and Science opened in 1992 and welcomes 450,000 people per year. Museum exhibits are Powerful You!, Go Green, Minerals Rock, Runways to Rockets and Living in the Everglades. The EcoDiscovery Center has playful river otters, an Everglades airboat ride simulator, a digital projection globe and a 12-foot Imperial Mammoth display.
