See fish and manatees up close in this Florida state park's floating underwater observatory inside its 45-foot deep natural springs located at the beginning of the Homosassa River. The 210-plus acre Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park was established in 1989 and also is home to hippos, black bears, alligators, otters, deer, flamingos and many other wild creatures. The area was called "a wonder of the world" and "natural bowl of fish" in 1924 by Chicago native Bruce Hoover, who began developing the springs as an attraction.
