Welcome to Barcelona! 

Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to the hotel. Our guide will await you and will provide all the necessary information.

In the afternoon, we'll head to Maremagnum, a lively area beside the sea. Here you'll discover how the innovative spirit of the city meets its rich history and culture. There are plenty of restaurants for you dinner (own expense) and you're welcome to ask your guide for advice.

Barcelona

Barcelona

Hotel: Front Air Congress or similar

Today we will get to know Barcelona, an impressive city right on the Mediterranean Sea. Our visit includes an informative city tour with a local expert and visit the city’s historic central area with its Gothic neighborhood dating back to the Middle Ages. Then we will visit the area where the Olympic Games took place and visit the La Sagrada Familia, the magnificent basilica designed by architect Gaudi.

Afterwards, we'll head to the “Poble Espanyol” (meaning “Spanish Village”). This open air architectural museum is situated in one of the most emblematic areas of Barcelona. Be delighted by the best Spanish craftsmanship and discover the architectural styles, traditions and folklore of the different communities in Spain.

Then you'll have free time to explore the city on your own. In the evening we'll head to Las Ramblas and Plaza Cata­lunya area, where you can select from a great variety of restaurants for dinner.

Day 03
Valencia

Barcelona - Peniscola - Valencia

Today we'll travel south along the Mediterranean, stopping at Pe­niscola, a small walled town on the shores of the sea. After a short introduction given by our guide, you can make your way through the town, discovering the fishing port, the castle and the beach.

Following lunch here we'll continue to Valencia, the third largest Spanish city, where we explore the City of Arts and Sciences, the most important modern tourist site in the city of Valencia. Next, we'll walk through the historic center of the city and visit the glorious Cathedral. In the evening we'll head to the Plaza de Toros where can choose from a variety of cuisines for dinner.

Day 04
Granada

Valencia - Caravaca de la Cruz - Granada

Early in the morning, we'll take a scenic trip through the Spanish heartland. On our way to Granada, we'll make a stop in Caravaca de la Cruz, a small town considered by the Catholic Church to be one of the five holy cities.

We'll continue through beautiful landscapes to Andalusia and arrive in Granada. Experience the city with highlights such as the immense Palace of the Alhambra and the beautiful Generalife Moorish Gardens, built during Moorish times.

Later, we'll enjoy an evening at Plaza de Gracia in Granada’s city center, where restaurants mix with local cultural flavor to create an unforgettable night.

Tonight you have the option to attend a flamenco dance show and the traditional neighborhood of Sac­ramonte.

Tips:
A limited number of people are allowed inside the Alhambra Palace at one time. In the highly improbable instance of not being able to visit the Alhambra, a visit to the Alcazar of Seville will be arranged instead.
Day 05
Rabat

Granada - Asilah - Rabat

Today we'll depart Granada and head to Morocco!

First we'll cross the Costa del Sol, heading towards Algeciras or Tarifa, where we'll board a feerry across teh Strait of Gibraltar. Generally the motorcoach does not travel with us so we will need to carry our luggage with us.

We'll arrive in Asilah, a lovely walled city right on the shores of the Atlantic that was originally settled by medieval pirates. We'll have time for lunch here before heading to tonight's destination: Rabat.

Tips:
Effective April 06, 2017, we will spend another day in Granada (Day 5). Major sightseeing in Granada will take place on Day 5 instead of the previous day.

Marrakesh

Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakesh

Hotel: Riad Mogador Menara or similar

We'll begin tour with your first tour of Morocca, exploring the great city of Rabat. First up we'll visit the glorious Royal Palace, then head to see the Mohamed V Mausoleum and Kasbah of the Udayas.

In the afternoon we'll head to Casablanca. Upon arrival we'll have a guided tour and visit the exterior of Hassan II Mosque, one of the most magnificent mosques in the world!

From here we'll continue to Marrakesh and take a traditional Kalesa ride to Jamaa el Fna square where you can enjoy dinner.

Day 07
Marrakesh

Marrakesh

We'll begin our day in Marrakesh with a guided tour of this amazing city.

Afterwards you'll be free to explore on your own - we highly suggest visiting the Marrakesh Souk - or relax by the pool.

In the evening, you can experience a Fantasia dinner and cultural show (optional, own expense).

Day 08
Boumalne Dades

Marrakesh - Ait Benhadou - Ourzazate - Boumalne Dades

Hotel: Xaluca Boulmane Dades or similar

Today we'll cross over one of the great regions of Morocco with a trip through the Atlas Mountains, passing by small Berber villages, and stop in the stunning town of Ait Benhaddou. Famous for featuring a number of blockbuster hits, this scenic city worth the whole trip in and of itself.

From here we'll continue our journey to Ouarzazate, passing through many so-called biblical landscapes. We'll rest here before moving on to the last leg of our journey to Boumalne Dades

Tips:
On very rare occasions (during winter), the roads may be closed due to snowdrifts. If necessary, days 5 to 7 will be rescheduled according to our alternative itinerary. Whether we can visit the Sahara or not will depend on road access.
Day 09
Erfoud

Boulmane Dades - Todgha - Khorbat - Erfoud

Hotel: Xaluca or similar

Today we'll have an exciting journey through the Sahara Desert! First up we'll travel through the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs and visit the stunningly magnificent Todgha Gorge. Along the way we'll pass by gorgeous river valley so thousands of palm trees, lovely adobe villages beside refreshing oasis's, and long lost fortresses.

We'll also visit a small adobe town near Khorbat where we'll learn about the desert communities that live out here. From here we'll head to Erfound where we'll be free to explore or take an optional trip to see the sand dunes of the Sahara at dusk.

Tips:
Sometimes access is not possible due to weather conditions, which may involve flooding of the river.

Day 10
Fez

Erfoud - Fez

Hotel: Zalagh Parc Palace or similar

Early in the morning we'll say farewell to the Sahara and travel back through the mountains to the city of Fes. We'll have free time for the rest of the day.

Tangier

Fez - Tangier

Hotel: Cesar or similar

Today we'll join a scenic tour of this great city and learn its rich history. We'll end the tour with lunch at an ancient palace in the Medina district.

In the afternoon we'll head to Northern Morocco and spend the night in Tangier. We conclude the visit by including lunch in an ancient palace in the Medina district. At the beginning of the afternoon, we depart towards the north of Morocco.

Lunch and dinner are included.

Sevilla

Tangier - Seville

Hotel: Trh Alcora or similar

Today we'll begin our journey back to Spain, departing Tangier and traveling by ferry to Seville. We return to Spain by ferry. We arrive in Algeciras or Tarifa and continue to Seville, where we'll enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Tips:
The coach will not travel on board the ferry, and each passenger will be required to carry their own piece of luggage.

Day 13
Madrid

Seville - Madrid

Hotel: Praga or similar

Today we'll begin with a guided tour of the great city of Seville, which has captivated travelers for ages. First up we'll head to the gorgeous Seville Cathedral and Giralda bell tower. Afterwards we'll travel through the popular neighborhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana before arriving at the beautiful Plaza de Espana. We'll have free time to explore here.

After lunch, we'll take a trip on a high-speed train on a comfortable and enjoyable trip through marvelous Spanish countryside. After a 2 and a half hour journey we'll arrive in Madrid and transfer to our hotel.

At sunset we'll head to the Plaza de Oriente in the historic center of Madrid where you can enjoy dinner.

Tips:
If the group has fewer than fifteen people, it can be conducted in both Spanish and English.

On the train ride, a guide will only accompany the group if it contains over 20 passengers.
Day 14
Madrid

This morning, experience the city on a guided tour, which showcases the beautiful Plaza Mayor (Main Square), its broad and magnificent avenues, and its many fountains.

We'll also travel inside the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, a gorgeous building that showcases the city's great architecture. Here we'll learn about the tradition of corridas (“running with the bulls”) in the Bullfighting Museum. Next, we'll take a walking tour of the beautiful Retiro Park, enhanced by the lake and Crystal Palace.

Afterwards you'll be free to explore on your own. If you wish, there is an optional visit to the Royal Palace.

At sunset we'll head to the Plaza de Oriente in the historic center of Madrid where you can enjoy dinner.

Tips:
Effective April 06, 2017, guided sightseeing in Madrid will no longer be included in this tour package. The full day in Madrid will be replaced by a full day in Granada (see Day 5).
Day 15
Barcelona

Madrid - Zaragoza - Barcelona

We'll depart early in the morning from Madrid and heads towards the stunning region of Aragon and stop in the city of Zaragoza. Here we'll visit the magnificent Basilica del Pilar and then enjoy some free time in the city center.

Later, we'll make our way to Catalunya, making a special side trip to the Montserrat Monastery by way of the rack railway (train fare included).

Then we'll arrive at today's final destination, Barcelona, where our tour will end.

Tips:
From April to October we'll also visit Poblet Monastery (admission and guided tour included).
