Summary of The Day: Get ready for the best 2 and a half weeks of your life as you explore the glorious lakes, mountains, and cities of Western Canada.
We'll start in Vancouver, but quickly head to the capital of British Columbia, Victoria. After a scenic ferry ride over to Vancouver Island, you'll be welcomed to British Columbia's `City of Gardens,' where the intrepid outdoor type will feel right at home.
With a rugged, beautiful shoreline and a relaxed way of life, there's no surprise people never want to leave. Enjoy an orientation walk of the city with your tour leader. Try to catch the Parliament Buildings lit up at night before deciding which restaurant you're going to devour some freshly caught seafood from.
Summary of The Day: Enjoy another day in Victoria, a lovely capital with so much to do. Take this chance to visit the world famous Butchart Gardens, one of the top destinations in the city, or walk along the lovely harbor.
Summary of The Day: Today we'll head out of the city to the northwest. Our destination for the day is Tofino, a picture perfect place that will 'wow' even the most discerning travelers with its stunning beaches, lined with towering cedar trees, that measure up to 13 metres round. Watch out for eagles that fly overhead and whales that swim just off shore. This lovely district rests within the Pacific Rim National Park, an expansive park on Vancouver Island.
Summary of The Day: With so many watery experiences to be had you won't know where to start but an included bear viewing cruise is a pretty good place. You may wish to follow this up with an optional whale watching adventure or sea kayaking between secluded coves.
Summary of The Day: In Tofino it's not just the abundance of amazing wildlife that will impress, there are some great hiking trails just waiting for you to explore. Canadians love to be outdoors and with a few days in Tofino, you'll soon see why.
Summary of The Day: Today we'll head back to the mainland, aiming for the amazing resort area of Whistler, nestled in British Columbia's mountains. But don't let the resort tagline fool you; Whistler's an action lover's paradise, so be sure to make the most of the exciting and thrilling activities on offer.
Grab your bike and hit the awesome mountain trails, fly through the air on a vertigo inducing zip line or hit the hiking paths. Whatever you decide to do, adventure is well and truly alive in Whistler, so embrace it.
Summary of The Day: Enjoy another day in lovely Whistler.
Summary of The Day: From Whistler we'll continue northeast to Wells Gray Provincial Park. The stillness, silence and isolation go up another notch and with good reason. Experience the incredible vistas of high mountains, deep canyons, volcanic cones and old growth forests.
Hike to the stunning Helmcken Falls, a 141 meter waterfall on the Murtle River and one of the reasons for the creation of Wells Gray Provincial Park. Hopefully you've packed your sense of adventure as an included overnight canoe trip delivers pure away-from-it-all escapism and a remote experience which is truly spectacular.
Summary of The Day: Today we'll complete our canoe trip through Wells Gray and discover the untouched forests and mountains of this amazing region.
Summary of The Day: From Wells Gray we'll enter the Canadian Rockies as we journey to Jasper National Park, one of the great nature reserves here. An abundance of wildlife such as Grizzlies, wolves and caribou make it the perfect place to get at one with nature.
Your tour leader will guide you on the Athabasca Falls/Maligne Canyon hike from teahouse to the 4th Bridge, but biking your way round this epic national park is also great way to see it, so what are you waiting for?
Summary of The Day: Enjoy another day exploring Jasper National Park.
Summary of The Day: The drive from Jasper will blow your mind as you cruise along the Icefields Parkway. Running parallel to the Continental Divide, you'll be hard pushed to find a more beautiful scene. Lose yourself in one of Canada's largest national parks. Yoho comes from the Cree word for awe and wonder and as soon as you start hiking through this incredible place you'll soon see how it got its name.
Summary of The Day: Embrace your wild side with some white-water rafting down the aptly named Kicking Horse River which offers some of the best rapids in the world. The scenery will continue to impress as you come across Takakkaw Falls, falling from the mountains to the valley below. The vistas keep on coming as you lay eyes on the incredible Emerald Lake with its glacial hues and forest backdrop. Your leader will guide you on the Wapta Falls & Emerald Loop Trail to explore the best of Yoho.
Summary of The Day: The `Gem of the Rockies' is up next and boy are you in for a treat! You can expect great things on a trip to Lake Louise, blue skies and even bluer waters. The water is always a little chilly, so a swim might not be an option, but you can always rent a canoe from the Lake Louise Boathouse and surround yourself with the beautiful scenery instead. Once you've stopped gawking at the incredible scenery, we suggest taking a hike out to the Plain-of-Six-Glaciers where you'll be able to see the blue lake hues from above.
Summary of The Day: Banff is Canada's oldest national park and it's definitely up there with the best national parks in the world. Your leader will guide you on the Johnston Canyon to Lower Falls & Moraine Lakeshore Trail for amazing scenic views.
Summary of The Day: Whether you explore Banff by car, bike, canoe or snowshoe you'll be left speechless by its endless beauty. Stretch your legs and breathe in the fresh mountain air on the show-stopping trails with mirrored lakes and chiseled canyons. One dunk in the hot springs plus a drink or two later and you'll sleep like a log.
Summary of The Day: Welcome to Calgary! This one-time Mountie outpost is situated at the meeting of the Bow River and the Elbow River in the south of the province. With the epic Rocky Mountain Range as the city's backdrop, Calgary is a pretty awesome place to be.
