Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Often just called MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology is a highly-respected private research university located on 168 acres in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1861 and has had 80 Nobel Laureates, 56 National Medal of Science recipients, 43 MacArthur Fellows and 28 National Medal of Technology and Innovation winners. The university has more than 11,000 students and nearly 2,000 faculty members. Famous alumni include former United States Federal Reserve Bank chairman Ben Bernanke, U.S. astronaut Buzz Aldrin, architect I.M. Pei, former British Foreign Minister David Miliband and former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
