Century City
The residential and commercial district in West Los Angeles began as a back lot for 20th Century Fox. While the studio originally had a plan for the land announced in 1957, financial strain forced it to sell nearly 180 acres to William Zeckendorf and Alcoa. The first structure Century City Gateway West was built in 1963 followed by the Century Plaza Hotel and many more developments. Fox Headquarters still has headquarters in the upscale Century City.
