About Wall Street

This .7-mile-long street running eight blocks from Broadway to South streets in Lower Manhattan is synonymous with New York's Financial District and big business in the United States. Wall Street was laid out in 1685 and was the site of many historic moments including the 1789 inauguration of President George Washington, 1792 Buttonwood Agreement creating the New York Stock Exchange and the 1929 Stock Market Crash. Points of interest are the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Hall National Memorial, Deutsche Bank, Federal Reserve Gold Vault, Trinity Church and the Charging Bull statue.
