About Stockholm City Hall

City Hall is one of the most popular landmarks in Stockholm, welcoming the public with guided tours. The brick building opened in 1923 and has offices for 200 people, including the Municipal Council. Visitors may recognize its 348-foot tower topped by the golden spire of Three Crowns: Sweden’s coat of arms. Climb to the top of the tower for city views or visit the Tower Museum. Guests may also tour the grand halls and see City Hall’s unique art. The Blue Hall and Golden Hall (decorated with 18 million gold mosaic tiles) host the annual Nobel Prize banquet in December.
