About Seward

The Alaskan city on the Kenai Peninsula features Mile "0" of the Iditarod Trail and is a popular access point to Kenai Fjords National Park. Seward along Resurrection Bay was established in 1903 and named after United States Secretary of State William Seward, who was integral in the U.S. purchase of Alaska. Notable sites are Alaska SeaLife Center, Obihiro Park, Waterfront Park, Mount Marathon and Seward Harbor.
