About Scottsdale

The Arizona city of Scottsdale is adjacent to the Greater Phoenix area and is located in the eastern part of Maricopa County. The city's slogan is "The West's Most Western Town," and is known for its lively night life. The area which is now Scottsdale, was originally inhabited by the Hohokam from 300 B.C to 1450 A.D. The town was formerly known as Orangedale during the 19th century and later was changed to Scottsdale, named after its founder Winfield Scott, in 1894. The city is divided into four different sections: South Scottsdale, Old Town Scottsdale, The Shea Corridor and North Scottsdale.
