Historical Krakow’s Main Square, or Rynek Głowny, has been around since the 13th century. The 10-acre plaza has 47 buildings. The most popular include Cloth Hall, a 700-year-old shopping center that now has Krakow’s National Museum upstairs. The 13th century Town Hall Tower still leans slightly from strong winds in 1703. Still, the most visited landmark in the square is the basilica of the Virgin Mary, which contains Veit Stoss’s exceptional altarpiece.
