About Rock City Gardens

This one-of-a-kind Georgia attraction situated atop Lookout Mountain claims visitors can see seven states from the peak of its Lover's Leap and features centuries-old rock formations and acres of beautiful gardens with 400-plus species of flowers, plants and trees. Rock City Gardens was established in 1932 by Garnet Carter after his wife Frieda landscaped the area and sign maker Clark Byers painted signs reading "See Rock City" on more than 900 barn roofs in 19 states to market the destination. Popular spots are Lover's Leap, The High Falls of the Lookout Mountain, Fairyland Caverns, Mother Goose Village, Balanced Rock, Fat Man's Squeeze and Stone Face.
