The city of Pucon is situated in center-east Chile, around half a mile south of Santiago, and draws visitors due to its location beside a lake and volcano. In addition to offering water sports on the lake, skiing, and horseback riding, the city is full of natural hot springs. Located in a strategically advantageous spot, Pucon was established as a fort in 1883 following unrest in the region. One of the city’s main attractions, nearby Villarrica National Park, also offers an exciting mix of volcanoes and lakes.
