The 585-acre beautiful Brooklyn park was designed by architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux - who both were responsible for New York City's Central Park - and opened in 1867. Prospect Park has Brooklyn's only forest area, a 60-acre lake, a 90-acre Long Meadow, Prospect Park Zoo, Boathouse, Litchfield Villa and the United States' first Audubon Center. It welcomes more than 10 million visitors per year and it hosts many concerts and activities during the summer months.
