United States President Abraham Lincoln spent many days including numerous during the Civil War in this Gothic Revival style cottage located at Soldiers' Home in Washington, D.C. He also created the Emancipation Proclamation at this historic home that was also resided in by American presidents James Buchanan, Rutherford B. Hayes and Chester A. Arthur. President Lincoln's Cottage was opened to the public in 2008 and features exhibits, tours, multimedia presentations and an interactive gallery.
