About Paseo de la Reforma

Cutting diagonally through Mexico City, the Paseo de la Reforma mimics the Champ-Elysees of Paris as a wide major boulevard within the city. The avenue was commissioned by Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico following his conquest of the city to link his palace home to the city center. Along either side visitors can pass Mexico's tallest buildings including Torre Mayor. Alongside the major buildings stand the Angel of Independence, Jose San Martin Monument, and Monument of the Revolution.
