The one-time capital of Moravia, this lively town situated along the Morava River is one of the Czech Republic best preserved historic destinations. Olomouc was the site of a Roman military camp during the 2nd century. Its baroque landmark Holy Trinity Column is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other points of interest are St. Wenceslas Cathedral, Olomouc Astronomical Clock, St. Maurice Church, Palacký University, St. Michael's Church, Moravian Theatre and Olomouc Museum of Art.
