About Ochopee

This Eastern Florida community near the Everglades has gained fame for having the smallest post office in the United States with its 7-by-8 foot shed along U.S. Route 41. Ochopee began a a family tomato-growing farm back in the 1920s and has a population of less than 20 people. The community's name is the Seminole Native American word for farm.
