About Masai Mara National Reserve

The Masai Mara National Reserve covers 1510 sq km (520 sq miles) and is composed of a large game reserve, including the Mara Triangle, Ngama Hills, Oloololo Escarpment, and Central Plains. The preserve is famous for the high population of Masai lions, African leopards, and Tanzanian cheetahs, as well as the annual migration of wildebeest through this region. Considered one of the great preserves in Africa, this expansive savannah features wide open skies, lush grasslands, and diverse wildlife.
