About Los Carneros

The 90-square-mile American Viticultural Area contains parts of both Napa and Sonoma counties in California and is known for producing sparkling wines, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Los Carneros' name is Spanish for sheep that are regularly viewed in the area grazing on the land and its cool climate is because of the area's proximity to San Pablo Bay. The region mainly started by wine producer Louis Martini in 1942 offers many notable wineries, renowned tasting rooms and excellent restaurants.
