Officially called The Richard Riordan Central Library, the Downtown Los Angeles landmark dates back to 1926 and was designed by architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue with ancient Egyptian influences. A wing was added in 1993. The Los Angeles Central Library is the third largest public library in the United States in terms of volume. The interior of the library features stunning art and architecture, as well. Tours are available.
