About Lion Country Safari

Lion Country Safari is a drive through safari park located in Florida, which was founded in 1967. The Lion Country Safari is believed to be the first "cageless" zoo and has been featured on numerous lists featuring the nation's best zoos. The zoo was founded by South African, British and American entrepreneurs who wish to provide guests with a unique and rare zoo experience. The original park in Florida is the only remaining Lion Country Safari park in the country. The Lion County Safari zoo only exclusively featured lions when it first opened but now features more than 1,000 animals including giraffes, zebras and rhinoceroses, to name a few.
