About La Giralda

At almost 350 feet high, this looming medieval tower is one of the most enduring legacies of the Moorish medieval occupation of Seville. Constructed at the end of the 12th century, for hundreds of years this bell tower served as a beacon for Muslim prayer. Today, the bell tower is connected to a Christian cathedral, and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From inside the cathedral, visitors can climb breathlessly to the top for a 360-degree view of the city below.
