About Juneau

Alaska's state capital is the second largest United States city by area and is situated along the Gastineau Channel. Juneau was explored during the Vancouver Expedition from 1791-95 and became the state capital city in 1906. Popular attractions are the Alaska State Capitol Building, Perseverance Theatre, Alaska State Museum, Alaska Governor's Mansion, Juneau Rainforest Garden, Juneau-Douglas City Museum, Last Chance Mining Museum and the Shrine of St. Therese.
